To host the Second World Shakespeare Congress focusing upon the U.S. role in preserving its English cultural heritage and the influence of that heritage upon its own culture. The core of the Congress will be a group of scholarly meetings. Also planned are a series of cultural events, in celebration with the Bicentennial, including a major exhibit theatrical performances, concerts and the publication of five separate volumes of scholarship.
