To support the preparation of a study of Roman-period pottery recovered in excavations in the center of Rome.
The project entails the advanced study and publication of the Roman-period pottery from the American Academy in Rome/Soprintendenza Archeologica di Roma Palatine East excavations in downtown Rome by an international team of eight scholars. The results, which will be published as a monograph in a series of final site reports for the Palatine East project, will provide an unprecedentedly comprehensive detailed, and internally coherent picture of the mix and balance of Rome's regional and extra-regional sources of supply over nearly the entire course of the imperial period.
