To support work on a two-volume edition of new letters of Theodore Dreiser.

An edition, in two volumes, of previously unpublished letters of Theodore Dreiser. The first volume will collect letters which bear on a variety of major phases -- political, literary, cultural -- of Dreiser's life and work. The second will be devoted to Dreiser's letters to the many women who played significant roles in his personal life and public career.
