Vanderbilt University seeks the support from the National Endowment for the Humanities to launch its American Culture and Education Center in the Pearl River Delta, a US State Department initiative in the People's Republic of China. Funding from the NEH will be used for convening Vanderbilt and guest humanists and social scientists to craft high-impact and culturally sensible content for the new center that would project the American experience into the context of southeast China with an emphasis on history, literature, and folklore.
