To support public programs, through regrants to institutions and organizations, which relate the humanities and humanists to issues of broad public interest in Texas. The program will retain its theme of the previous year ("Government and the Individual in Texas”) and will reassess the values expressed in the state's public policy to examine its implications for the future of the state.
