General operating support for state or territorial humanities council

To support public programs, through regrants to institutions and organizations, which relate the humanities and humanists to issues of broad public interest in Tennessee. During its second year, the Tennessee Committee will ask humanists to engage the adult public in dialogue on citizen responsibilities and rights in the context of concrete issues such as land use, taxation, and public education. The Committee will encourage the involvement of its Constituents with a more effective public information program and a series of small community seminars and larger humanist conferences.
