Oregon Humanities is committed to helping Oregonians explore challenging questions, deepen their capacity to understand diverse perspectives, and strive for just communities. To accomplish our mission to connect Oregonians to ideas that change lives and transform communities, we offer nearly 200 discussion-based programs across the state each year, publish a triannual magazine featuring award-winning regional artists and writers, create multimedia content that provokes conversation and reflection, and award public grants to small organizations that get people thinking and talking about core questions in their communities. Founded in 1971, we are an independent, nonprofit affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities and a partner of the Oregon Cultural Trust. We partner with more than 150 cultural, educational, and social service organizations and reach more than 60,000 Oregonians each year.
