To support local humanities initiatives and state humanities council operations.

The Florida Humanities Council is the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Our mission is to build strong communities and informed citizens by engaging Floridians in the heritage, traditions, and stories of our state and its place in the world. This mission is accomplished through Council programs including: workshops in the humanities for K-12 teachers, a community grants programs, a humanities speakers bureau,a statewide cultural magazine, summer humanities workshops for high school teenagers, cultural tours and traveling museum exhibits
