The Pennsylvania Humanities Council (PHC) will partner with Leadership Philadelphia (LP) to hold a master class led by National Humanities Medal awardee Anna Deavere Smith in honor of LP's 60th Anniversary. The class will bring together diverse Leadership Philadelphia alumni to explore issues of shared humanity, race, and inclusion, with a goal to explore possible projects these leaders can help initiate in their homes, work, and communities to help people work together and overcome difficult public issues. With permission of the participants, excerpts from the conversations may be produced into short audio pieces to be shared with the public via radio. This partnership will reach thousands of Pennsylvanians through the media, help develop key relationships with leaders in business, government and nonprofits, and deepen public participation in PHC's humanities-based work.
