The USCCD proposes to develop a series of humanities programs in cooperation with the 50 state humanities councils to be delivered at our AMcorners, libraries and binational centers throughout the world. This program is intended to: 1)share stories about America using humanities as a thoughtful way to explain American life and culture (an important mission of the NEH); 2) respond to a specific need identified by our embassies - engaging citizens of other countries in dialogue with Americans about their lives and culture; and 3) engage more Americans in citizen diplomacy - (a major objective of the USCCD). The programs will be delivered via Skype electronic conferencing via the Internet to expand the reach.
