Development of an 87-minute documentary presenting the stories of four torture victims as they work towards healing and recovery.

"Seeking Refuge" is an 87-minute documentary, which follows torture survivors and their care partners as they embark on an intimate journey of healing. The film gives audiences the opportunity to reflect on the devastating long-term repercussions of torture and its widespread prevalence in the global community and reveals the political underpinnings that breathe life into the world of torture. By exploring the relationship between torture and the most basic principles of democracy and individual freedom, "Seeking Refuge" will act as a catalyst for audiences to reflect on the complexities and nuances of ongoing debates about the use of torture and 'enhanced interrogation.' The film will encourage audiences to engage in complex and important areas of the humanities; and to enter into civil discourse in an informed, thoughtful and productive manner.
