The hiring of two staff members and the retention of a full-time registrar, along with the purchase of equipment, to process and digitize objects from anthropology collections.
Through this one-year project, anthropology collections staff at the Field Museum of Natural History will complete the processing of 15 important anthropology collections from around the world. Two new, full-time staff members will be hired and an existing part-time position will be made full-time. By completing basic cataloging, photography, and housing of these global heritage collections, this project will improve the stewardship of objects under the Museum’s care and make the items and their associated information and stories accessible to descendent communities, researchers, and the general public, both in-person and online.
