This program comprises four projects that will examine the shared history of the Northern Mariana Islands (NMI) and the United States during the 100 year period (ca. 1898-1999) some historians refer to as the “American Century” and how this shared history has shaped the social, cultural, economic, and political life in the NMI today. These projects include: American Foreign Policy; Guam-NMI Relations; the Road to Commonwealth; and Constitutional Awareness. All will be open to the public on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota including students from elementary school to college. |
