For the Research Library's valuable archival subject collections (called "Topical Collections"), the grant would support re-housing of 150 linear feet of selected materials in acid-free archival folders, boxes, and envelopes as appropriate to the specific materials. Currently the bulk of the Topical Collections are housed in non-archival folders, boxes, and envelopes, or, in the case of many fragile bound materials, lack protective housing entirely. These collections have already been arranged and described, however the physical processing was done at a time prior to the widespread use of of acid-free housing. |
