The Delaware Operating Railroad Museum is a division of Historic Red Clay Valley, Inc (HRCV) which also operates the 10 mile scenic Wilmington & Western Railroad. The NEH grant would support an overall preservation assessment of the collections of HRCV by a professional consultant. This assessment would provide "best practices" preservation recommendations into plans to build new archive and library rooms in a new office HRCV building. This project is of major preservation importance in that it will preserve documents and artifacts of Delawares only continuously operating 137-year-old branch railroad in Northern Delaware. |
