The Eleanor Roosevelt Papers Project seeks a three-year Scholarly Editions and Translations grant in the amount of $299,310 to complete post-production of Volume 3, prepare a manuscript of Volume 4, initiate document selection for Volume 5, publish electronic versions of Volumes 2 and 3, and make targeted investments to expand still further functionality of the ERP back-end database and front-end website. |

The Eleanor Roosevelt Papers, a documentary editing project of Eleanor Roosevelt's post-White House writings on democracy and human rights sponsored by the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC), the George Washington University (GWU), the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and a host of private donors, seeks a three-year grant from the Scholarly Editions Division to support the publication of its second and third volumes in both letterpress and electronic format. These funds with allow The Eleanor Roosevelt Papers to retain its NEH-supported associate editor, index Volume I (The Papers of Eleanor Roosevelt: The United Nations Years, 1945-1948), submit Volume II (The Papers of Eleanor Roosevelt: The United Nations Years, 1949-1952) and Volume III (The Papers of Eleanor Roosevelt: The Cold War Years, 1957-1960). The documents include in these volumes come from more than 600 collections in 263 archives in nine nations. We are particularly pleased that Scribner's will cover the permission fees necessary to reproduce her radio, television, and film appearances and the costs of producing an electronic edition adherent to best editorial practice. |
